KDU Northeast Extravaganza Night 2019

On Saturday, July 6, the Chapter hosted a fundraising event in East Brunswick, New Jersey. The hall was decorated with Sierra Leonean artifacts reflecting the African theme. A female mannequin beautifully dressed in Krio kabaslot, enkincha, kapet slipas and kotoku displayed the outfit of a ‘Krio Woman’. The sounds from the DJ with the latest African music kept the hall buzzing throughout the afternoon and late into the night. There was also a Goombay dance competition that captured the audience’s attention.
